My journey as a midwife began actually when I was 6. My mom had my brother at a birthing house in Tokyo. My sister and I attended the birth with dad. That impressive feeling has stayed in my heart, and I decided to be a midwife when I was a high school student. Since then, my passion is focusing on supporting and empowering mothers and babies.

After working as a hospital midwife for a few years, I moved to this beautiful island. This is a wonderful place to live, but I realized the support systems for parents are not so great. The more I’ve been discovering this reality in Hawaii, the bigger my passion has been growing. I was certified as an IBCLC in 2011, and also became a registered yoga teacher and massage therapist. I wanted to put those certifications and licenses together as a tool to support mothers and babies.

I finally met Nicky at the end of 2014. We noticed that we both had similar ideas as a Japanese midwife, and started working as a team. There are not many places that you can find this type of service in Hawaii. Japanese midwife’s holistic care is an art. We fully use our knowledge and skills to support you to achieve your breastfeeding goals.

I’m also a mom of two and have the same struggles as many moms. Life is totally different with kids and is sometimes frustrating. However, I’ve learned a lot and have been growing with them–learning to love, to accept, to give up, to forgive, not to compete, not to compare…etc. I hope to inspire other moms that are struggling, too!

Please come and visit me! 😉
